Notice on the Adjustment of Requirements for Chinese Visa Application

As of June 17, 2022, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the State of Eritrea will adjust the requirements for visa application for foreign personnel who lives in Eritrea as follows:

1. Applicants who have been invited by Chinese central and state organs, provincial foreign affairs and commercial departments, central enterprises as well as most of municipal governments with Valid Invitation Letter (PU) can apply to Chinese Embassy for corresponding type of visa.

2. Applicants for employment can apply for work visa with Valid Notification Letter of Foreigner’s Work Permit, or the Foreigner’s Work Permit. Family members (including spouses, parents, children under the age of 18, parents-in-law) of above-mentioned applicants or foreign national already in China, can apply for the visa for living together or family visit with the certification showing the relationship of family members.

3. Family members (including spouses, parents, parents-in-law, childeren and their spouses, siblings, grandparents, and grandchildren) of Chinese citizens or foreign nationals with Chinese permanent residence permit, can apply for visa for reunion or family visit with certification showing the relationship of family members.

The applicants should provide full-process vaccination certificates of the vaccine licensed or approved for emergency use by China or the World Health Organization.
